The Mindful HR Leader

Mindful leadership is a challenge many of us face. I’ve had the opportunity to work in different organisations and roles where I’ve honed my skills in being mindful. It’s not easy, but it’s a skillset that can be developed with practice. Leaders are typically accustomed to fast-paced, results-driven environments where quick decision-making and constant activity are the norm.

Mindfulness, on the other hand, demands slowing down, being present, and engaging in introspective practices that can feel counterintuitive to traditional leadership methods. This shift can be challenging as it involves developing new skills like deep listening, patience, and vulnerability, which may not have been prioritized or valued in their previous leadership experiences. This transition, while immensely rewarding, requires patience and persistence.

Mindfulness acts like a lens, altering how we perceive challenges and opportunities, leading to more effective and empathetic decision-making.

Thrilled to be a guest, and I am excited to be joined by an incredible lineup of speakers who are leaders in their fields:

Tami Chapek, CEO and Founder of WeInspire
Tomeka Hill-Thomas, PhD , Senior Principal at Mercer
Jen Casimiro, Head of DEI at Prophet
Kristin Strunk, Director at ManpowerGroup

Moderated by: Minola Jac, Hacking HR Ambassador
